Suspect In Armed Robbery Of Hicksville Business Arrested After Vehicle Pursuit

On November 28, 2024, at approximately 3:05 am, at Phil’s One Stop located at 506 E. High Street, in the Village of Hicksville, an armed robbery was reported involving a firearm.

The suspect then fled the business on foot. Responding Officers located a vehicle believed to be involved in the robbery near the business.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle Which then fled from officers at a high rate of speed on E. High Street (St. Rt. 2) and the vehicle crashed on St. Rt. 2 near Buckskin Rd.

The driver lost control and rolled multiple times ejecting the driver. The driver was identified as Octavious J.H. Roberson, age 24, of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Roberson was positively identified as the subject that held up the clerk at gunpoint. A firearm was recovered from Roberson.

Roberson was transported to Parkview Hospital in Ft. Wayne, Indiana by Hicksville EMS. Roberson was arrested on a Warrant for Aggravated Robbery by Parkview Police Department and transported to Allen County Indiana Jail after his release from the hospital.


Roberson will appear in Allen County Indiana Court and is awaiting extradition back to Ohio. The clerk was not injured during the robbery.

Other charges are pending against Roberson, and they will be sent to the Defiance County Prosecutor’s Office.

Other agencies assisting were Hicksville EMS, Fire Department, Parkview Police Department, Defiance County Sheriff’s Office, and Ohio State Highway Patrol.
