(December 8th, 2014) – LIBERTY CENTER: Both the boys and girls Indian bowling teams suffered heartbreaking losses against the Tigers of Liberty Center.
The Wauseon boys actually carried a slight lead into the baker games. Nic Kearney’s score of 470, with the help of Clayton Ricker’s 375, lifted the Wauseon total just beyond the reach of the hometown Tigers. The team scores were 1841-1823, with the Indians clinging to a narrow lead.
The baker games were also tight. Liberty Center was able to claim victory at this aspect of the match with a margin of 593-537. This differential gave the Tigers the points they needed to overtake Wauseon for the match, with the final score reading 2416-2378.
It was a close match-up for the Lady Indians as well. Summer Brown led the Wauseon girls through the individual portion of the match, scoring a 293. Aleea Volkman bowled a 232, while her sister Aneesa scored just ten points lower at 222. With just the baker games left to decide the winner, Wauseon found themselves down 1329-1206.
They gave a valiant effort, but the Lady Indians were unable to make up the difference in the cooperative setting. Losing the baker games 437-378, they had lost the match altogether. The final score was 1766-1584.
