(December 5th, 2014) – WAUSEON: The Bulldogs of Swanton made the trip down 20A to take on Wauseon. The Indians were happy to host their North Western Athletic League foe, though the matches had mixed results.
The Wauseon boys beat Swanton in convincing fashion. Led by Nic Kearney and his score of 439, as well as Peyten Shadbolt’s 401, the Indians an 1860-1594 advantage into the baker games. In those three contests of team bowling, Wauseon was able to extend their lead by another 202 points after earning a 535-343 overall win. This brought the match to a final score of 2395-1936, in Wauseon’s favor.
The Lady Indians weren’t able to replicate the success of their male counterparts, however. Though Summer Brown bowled a respectable 273 in the individual portion of the match, accompanied by a solid 252 by Aleea Volkman and the rest of the team’s efforts, the girls found themselves down 1300-1166 heading into the baker games. They weren’t able to catch up in the cooperative format, losing the three games by a combined total of 422-286. The final score read 1722-1452 Swanton.
