Wauseon Splits Tri-Match

September 6th-Wauseon: Hosting a tri-match on Saturday, the Lady Indians of Wauseon took on Napoleon and Ottawa Glandorf.

The first match pitted the Wauseon girls against Napoleon, an opponent they were able to defeat in straight sets. The first game was competitive, but the Indians remained in control of the set, 25-17. Wauseon pulled away in the second set, winning by a 25-11 margin.

Kierra Fountain made 6 kills and 5 aces for the Lady Indians. Teammate Morgan Roth also had 5 aces, and added 10 assists as well. Kallie Strauss contributed 4 kills and 4 blocks as well.


In the second match, the girls of Wauseon took on Ottawa Glandorf. Although they put up outstanding effort, the Lady Indians lost the bout in straight sets themselves. The first game was Ottawa Glandorf’s to win, as Wauseon dropped the set 16-25. Game 2 was a battle, but the Indians came up short, 21-25.

Hayley Chamberlain set things in motion for the Lady Indians with her 8 assists, along with 2 blocks and 1 ace. Kierra Fountain and Sydney Bosell each had 3 kills and 3 blocks, while Kallie Strauss one upped her teammates by making 3 kills and 4 blocks in the losing effort.
