Williams County Commissioners Accept The Retirement Of Jim Hicks

Commissioner Terry Rummel stepped up to lead the Thursday, March 4 business meeting as Commissioner Brian Davis was not present. Rummel and Commissioner Lew Hilkert approved:

•Resolution 90 Appropriations on behalf of Williams County Common Pleas Court and Sheriff’s Office

•Resolution 91 Accepting and Awarding bid to K-Tech Specialty Coatings, Inc. for Project #4-2021 Asphalt Emulsion per Engineer Todd Roth’s recommendation

•Resolution 92 Entering into an agreement with Waze/Google on behalf of Williams County EMA

•Resolution employing Chief and Assistant Chief for the Williams County EMS (These will be Kyle Brigle and Jesse Brumbaugh, replacing Jim Hicks who is retiring. Commissioner Hilkert expressed his appreciation to Mr. Hicks “for his long term dedication to the County.”

“I remember where we were at with EMS when he became Director and he has moved this forward over the year and I really appreciate his dedication.”

“It is with regret as I am sorry to see him resign for retirement, but all of us get to that point. Thank you Mr. Hicks for your dedicated service.”

Rummel added, “Yes, in my short number of years (5), he has been a wealth of knowledge and great to work with. We will definitely miss him, but also look forward with Kyle and Jesse at the helm to run this forward and see where they take us in the future.”)

•Also signed were: On behalf of Jim Hicks – Notice of Retirement, Letter of Resignation; Notification of intent to convert Sick Leave upon retirement; Dog Warden report for week of February 22-28, 2021 and Month ending February Report; Project #4-2021 Notice of Award; Project #7-2020 Notice to Proceed and Agreement between owner and contractor

•Minutes for March 1, 2021

•Payment of bills

With no further business, the meeting adjourned.
