The Williams County Commissioners held a regular meeting on Tuesday, September 17th. The commissioners approved minutes from the previous meeting, the bills, and the following resolution.

During the meeting, it was communicated that Ohio Means Jobs has the capability to offer financial assistance for supplementary EMS training, enabling medics to advance to the paramedic level. Additionally, they can support certain residents with commercial driver’s license training.
“I would like to add that this idea came about during a township meeting with Ashley from WEDCO and Scott Lirot. We were discussing EMS and just bouncing ideas back and forth when Ashley mentioned the training money from Ohio Means Jobs.”
“It hadn’t even crossed my mind to consider using that as government funding. I want to acknowledge Ashley for questioning things, because that’s how we get things done, by discussing and challenging ideas.”
“I really appreciate her pushing us to investigate it. I believe it will be great for our EMTs and more opportunities will arise. If we can help these individuals get trained, it would be a wonderful thing,” said Commissioner Rummel.
With nothing further to discuss, the meeting was adjourned. The next regular meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 24th at 11:00 a.m.
