The Fifth District Basketball Officials Association is offering two (2) OHSAA approved basketball officiating courses to provide the opportunity for any adult or high school student interested in becoming an OHSAA certified basketball official.
– A participant 18 years of age and no longer enrolled in high school will attain a Class 2 Permit and will be eligible to officiate all levels of contests other than high school varsity.
– A high school student will attain a Class 3 permit and may officiate Freshman/Junior High/Middle School games, (no JV or varsity.)]
One class to be taught by Brett Green, will run from October 18 thru November 15, 2016 on weeknights with 9 sessions held at the Liberty Center High School and 2 sessions at 4-County Career Center, Archbold, OH.
The other class, to be taught by Ned Ewers, will run from October 23 thru December 4, 2016 with 7 sessions held on Sundays (5:00-8:30 PM) at the First Church of God, 561 Carter Rd, Defiance, OH and 1 session (Mon. 11/7, 6:00-8:30 PM) at 4-County Career Center, Archbold, OH..
Fees for either class will be $115.00. [Covers registration fees with OHSAA, a whistle, a lanyard and an OHSAA officiating shirt.]
