Lloyd C. Raker, age 83, a longtime resident of Delta, passed away Friday evening, October 19, 2018 at Genesis Swanton Valley Care Center.
He was born in Fayette on January 29, 1935 to George Raker and Florence (Roberts) Raker. He was united in marriage to Barbara Brown on July 9, 1955 and together shared 63 years.
For over 35 years Lloyd worked as a technical representative with Simplex Time Recorder. For several years on his spare time he enjoyed being a 4-H advisor. Lloyd was also a past elder with the Delta Church of Christ. He enjoyed woodworking and crafts so much he had his own unofficial shop called “Grandpa’s Workshop”.
Along with his loving wife, Barbara, he is survived by his daughters, Misha (Tammy) Raker of Toledo, Linda (Steve) Bechstein of Swanton and Tina Underwood of Delta; grandchildren, Jillian (Chris) Bozarth and Kristopher Underwood; great grandchildren, Steven James, Mikal and Zachary Bozarth; nieces and nephews. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, brother, William Joy Raker, sister, Virginia Raker and sister-in-law, Yolanda Raker.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St Hwy 109 in Delta. A funeral service honoring Lloyd’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at the Delta Church of Christ, 500 Providence St., Delta, Ohio 43515. Pastor David Underwood will be officiating. Interment will follow at Raker Cemetery in Delta.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing a show of sympathy are asked to consider contributions to the Delta Church of Christ in his memory.
