William “Bill” Hulshof (1954-2018)

William “Bill” Hulshof, 64, of Archbold, died early Friday morning, November 16, 2018, at the Cleveland Clinic, following an extended period of illness. Born March 25, 1954, in Sarnia Ontario, Canada, he was the son of the late Henry and Berindina (Fekken) Hulshof.

Bill cherished his time growing up in Canada until he was 11 years old, when the family moved to the United States and settled in Wauseon. He graduated from Wauseon High School in 1973. On June 11, 2005, he married Susan Stambaugh, together they resided in Archbold, OH.

Bill worked for 42 years at the Sauder Woodworking Company and enjoyed woodworking, making projects and furniture. He also enjoyed fishing, hockey, football and baseball, particularly supporting the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions, the Toronto Maple Leafs and The Ohio State Buckeyes. One of his favorite things to do was cook and spend time with his family.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, Susan, are his children, Benjamin (Tammy) Hulshof of Powell, OH, Cory (Ryan) Anderson of Maumee, OH, Monica (Michael) Armstrong of Napoleon, OH, and Colt (Mariah Young) Hulshof of Wauseon, OH. Also surviving are his siblings and their spouses, Jessica (Michael) Luma of Hudson, MI, Al (Vivian) Hulshof of Adrian, MI, Ed (Deb) Hulshof and Harriett Hulshof both from Sarnia, ON; seven grandchildren, Olivia, Elijah, Emma, Addison, Garrett, Sammy and Brennan plus many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, who died as an infant.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, from 2-8 p.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home in Fayette. A funeral service for Bill will be held on Wednesday, November 21 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fayette United Methodist Church with Pastor Jeff Bandy officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Union Cemetery in Fayette.
