Norma Hardy (1940-2018)

Norma Jane (Burditt) Hardy, 78, of Bryan, passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018 at The Indiana University Health Medical Center in Indianapolis, IN. She was born on January 20, 1940 in Bowling Green, Ohio to Ervin G. and Mildred M. (Schmidt) Burditt. Norma graduated from Anthony Wayne High School.

In 2002, she retired from Plas-Tec in Edon after 13 years of service. Norma was a member of the Central United Brethren Church in Montpelier for nearly 50 years. She enjoyed plastic canvasing, embroidering, gardening and spending time with family.

Norma is survived by her children, Norman (Linda Breeland) Hardy, Jr. of Sherwood, OH, Neil J. Hardy and Nate L. Hardy, both of Bryan, OH, Richard (Rachel) Hardy of Louisiana and Judy (Doug) Grimes of Defiance, OH; eight grandchildren, Brooke, Logan, Christopher, Crystal, Colleen, Jimmy, Anthony and Andrew; numerous great grandchildren; two brothers, Larry Burditt of Whitehouse, OH and Roger (Sandy) Burditt of Holland, OH; and two sisters, Margaret Burditt of Waterville, OH and Helen (Hillis) Shadel of West Unity, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman L. Hardy, Sr.; son, Alan Hardy; daughter, Patricia Hardy; two grandchildren, Alan Jr. and Jeff; one brother, David Burditt; and one sister, Donna Bollinger.

Visitation for Norma will take place on Friday, November 30, 2018 from 2-8 pm at the Thompson-Geesey Funeral Home, Empire Street Chapel in Montpelier. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Richard Thorp to officiate.


Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Montpelier. Donations may be made to Cancer Assistance of Williams County.  Condolences can be left for the family at www.thethompsonfuneralhome.com.
