She enjoyed golfing with her husband Dean and was active in local golf leagues. She loved bridge club, painting, puzzles, watching soap operas and Ohio State football.

Born on June 27, 1922 in Oil City, Pennsylvania, Thelma was the daughter of George and Elsie (Mandle) Hartman. She graduated from Bradford High School in 1940. After meeting Dean Zinsmaster in 1942 at the Bryan Candy Kitchen, they married on June 17,1944 in Junction City, Kansas and she became a World War II Army bride. They were married 47 years before Dean passed away on January 6, 1992.

Thelma is survived by her two children, Cheryl (Ric) Jones, of Bryan, and John (Braettina) Zinsmaster, of Phoenix, Arizona; 4 grandsons; 8 great-grandchildren and brother, Richard (Peggy) Hartman, of Pemberville, Ohio. She was predeceased by her husband Dean Zinsmaster, her parents, and her sisters, Shirley Rockhill and Mary Gustwiller.

Her interment will take place at Fountain Grove Cemetery in Bryan with arrangements handled by Krill Funeral Service, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Because of the current health crisis, a Celebration of Life will be held at a future date once restrictions are eased.

Friends and family are asked to please share their condolences by a phone call, email, text message, or leaving a condolence at the funeral home website. The family requests memorial donations to an organization of the donor’s choice.
