Edon Lady Bombers Conclude BBC Play With 11-0 Shutout Over North Central

EDON:  May 08- The Edon Lady Bombers concluded the 2014 BBC schedule on May 8, playing host to visiting North Central, downing the Lady Eagles 11-0 behind a strong effort on the mound by Kaitlin Chrisman, who allowed just 5 hits on the afternoon. Chrisman also tossed 7 strikeouts in the win to move Edon to a 6-3 mark in conference play.

Offensively for the Lady Bombers, Nichole Newell powered out of shot over the fence while also connecting for 2 singles and 2 RBI’s in the game; Chrisman had 2 doubles driving in 2 RBI’s to help her cause on the mound.  Haley Jacoby had a strong day, connecting for 2 singles and driving home 2 runs while Shaylee Manahan, Eliza Zulch, Meghan Dunkle and Hannah Kaylor also recoded hits in the victory with Zulch credited with 2 RBI’s.

In the loss for North Central, Reese Cogswell took the L, allowing 6 hits and 7 runs.  Makayla Hayes also saw action in the game, throwing 2 innings and allowing 4 runs.

For the Lady Eagles at the plate, Macayla Wildrick, Rachael Oxender, Abbey Litzenberg, Hayes, and Tristan Tomblin hit for singles in the Eagles loss.
