River Wicker of the Edon Blue Bombers has been named the 2014 BBC Baseball Player of the Year. The senior hurler led the Boys in Bomber Blue to a 7-3 mark in the BBC, but his trademark toughness came to the fore when matched up against the equally tough southpaw of the North Central Eagles, Branden Turner. The matchups between the two hurlers in 2014 were nothing short of epic battles.
Turner was named to the All-BBC First Team, as was the Big Cat from Stryker, Parker Ruffer. Also making the All-BBC First Team in his first year of eligibility was Brody Shock of Stryker. That name should bring back memories of Bronson Shock, who helped the Panthers to a District Championship in 2007. Brody helped lift the Panther Pack to a share of the 2014 BBC crown.
