Sharla Lorraine Massie, age 62, of Fayette, Ohio and formerly of Reading, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, November 26, 2020 surrounded by loved ones. She was born March 22, 1958 in Hillsdale to Harry & Doris (Poats) Ryan. Sharla was married to Keith Massie and he survives.
Sharla graduated from Reading High School, Class of 1976. She worked customer service for several local companies and after she retired she and Keith owned and operated Dawgs-N-Fixins. They enjoyed serving in their community and at local events.
Sharla was creative, fun-loving, easy-going, loved Native American heritage and culture, as well as motorcycle adventures with Keith. Sharla loved the Lord and with His help, courageously and aggressively fought her battle with Ovarian Cancer.
Surviving besides her husband, Keith are five children, Brandalyn (Joseph) Byler, Rion (Taryn) Massie, Chance (Ashley) Massie, Amber Massie and Tyler (Amanda) Massie; 16 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; brother, David (Chris) Ryan; and also many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends were important to Sharla. Common meeting places for cookouts, fun, and reunions were Harrison Lake State Park near Fayette, Ohio and Natural Springs Resort in New Paris, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister in infancy, Janet.
Funeral services for Sharla Massie will be Friday, December 4, 2020, at 2:00 PM at North Reading Baptist Church with Pastor Jerry Webb officiating. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Reading. The family will receive friends for visitation Thursday from 4-7 PM, at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Reading.
In compliance with current regulations, no more than 25 people will be allowed in the funeral home at a time and social distancing and face coverings will be required.
