BOYS BASKETBALL

VARSITY

Bryan 48 Paulding 42

Bryan trailed 31-26 entering the final quarter but outscored Paulding 22-11 to advance to the championship game of the Grube Family Holiday Classic at Defiance HS. The Bears shot 53% from the floor while limiting the Panthers to just 37%. AJ Martinez led a balanced attack from Bryan with 10 points, Titus Rohrer had nine, and Canon Lamberson also added nine points.

Montpelier 52 Hilltop 39

The Locos erased a 26-24 halftime deficit with a 17-8 third quarter advantage as they pulled way in the second half to knock off the Cadets. Montpelier (3-1, 2-0 in BBC) put four players in double figures led by Garrett Walz, Tylor Yahraus, Thomas Jay with 13 points each and Blake Altaffer added 11. Ian Hoffman had nine points to lead the scoring for Hilltop (0-7, 0-5).

Wauseon 46 Tinora 29

Wauseon (5-1) put the game away with a 15-3 fourth quarter to move on to the championship game of Grube Family Holiday Classic after a 46-29 win over Tinora. Jonas Tester was the lone Indian in double figures as he finished with 14 points and Tyson Britsch added nine.

VARSITY

Swanton 50 Northwood 32

The Bulldogs nailed eight three-pointers as a team, four in the third quarter, to help them outscore Northwood 19-7 in the quarter to pull away for the win in the Bob Fisher Holiday Classic semifinals. Averie Lutz dropped in 15 points for Swanton (5-3) to lead all scorers while Aricka Lutz added 10.

Montpelier 63 Hilltop 42

Ali Repp paced a balanced attack for Montpelier with 13 points in their win at home over Hilltop. The Locos (5-1, 2-0 in BBC) took control of the game in the third quarter by outscoring the Cadets 22-11 led by Trinity Richmire who hit three triples in the quarter and finished with 10 points on the night. Ariel Page and Chelsea McCord also reached double figures for Montpelier with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Mia Hancock tallied a game-high 14 points for Hilltop (5-3, 3-1), Kodi Brenner had 11, and Leanna Baker added 10.

Bryan 53 Fairview 43

Bryan (7-0) went 8/8 from the foul line in the fourth quarter as they held off Fairview in a battle of unbeatens in the semifinals of the Image Pro Holiday Classic at Bryan High School. Reese Grothaus topped the Bears with 11 points while McKendry Semer and Addie Arnold each added 10. Carrie Zeedyk led Fairview (7-1) with 21 points.

BOYS BOWLING

Tinora 2174 Wauseon 1759

Ben Allan led Wauseon with a 183 in game two and finished with a 320 series as they fell to Tinora in a non-league match. Ryan Marks was next for Wauseon as he rolled games of 131 and 172 for a 303 series.

GIRLS BOWLING

Wauseon 1856 Tinora 1331

Wauseon was led by Jayde Ramos who fired a 344 (152+192) in a convincing win over Tinora. Danielle Carr joined Ramos in the 300s with games of 172 and 153 for a 325 series.
