Deborah Kay VanHavel, age 71, of Hudson, passed away on December 24, 2020, at her home. She was born on January 25, 1949 in Morenci to Roger and Iva (VanArsdalen) Masters.
Deborah had been employed with National Can, Fayette Tubular, and then retiring from Sauder Woodworking in 2011.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Morenci Post #368, loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart, and loved her dogs, Babee and Girly, who were always by her side. Among her other favorites were gardening, being outside, baking (she had the best pie crust recipe), tractor pulls, fishing, and enjoyed bowling.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Deborah is survived by her six children, Victor (Julie) Garcia of Wauseon, Steven (Joyce) Garcia of Fayette, Kym (Dan) Baker of Stryker, Krys (John) Griffiths of Fayette, Janie (Chris) Bailey of Marengo, and Maegen (Jay) Sheldon of Blissfield; grandchildren, Victor Ray, Kylee, and Logan Garcia, Ashley (Joel) Link, Ethan Baker, Taylor and Hunter Griffiths, Makaylin and Wyatt Bailey, and Kaydence Sheldon; great grandchildren, Aiden, Carli, and Ella Link; step-daughters, Holly (Broc) Nichelson and Lacy (Brooks) Allen and their children;brother, Mark (LuAnn) Masters of Morenci; and sister, Mary (Mike) McDowell of Morenci.
She was welcomed to heaven by her parents, Roger and Iva; first husband, Victor Ruiz Garcia; and granddaughter, Ashtyn McCrae Baker.
Visitation for Deborah will be held on Sunday, January 3, 2021 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the Eagle-Marry Funeral Home – Fayette Chapel. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and social distancing regulations, only a limited number of individuals will be allowed in the chapel at a time and face coverings will be required. Funeral services will be private and held on Monday, January 4, 2021 at 1:00 P.M., with public burial to follow in Pleasant View Union Cemetery in Fayette.
