Stanley “Stan” Multhauf (1955-2021)

Stanley Lee “Stan” Multhauf, age 65, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away Thursday morning, August 26, 2021, at Swanton Health Care and Retirement Center, with his loving wife, Shawn, at his bedside. Stan was born on October 21, 1955, in Hartford, Wisconsin to Norman and Dorothy (Ullmann) Multhauf.

He graduated from Hartford High School and enrolled in the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he obtained his Bachelor’s of Business Degree. On May 19, 1984, Stan married the love of his life, Shawn Schiefler.

Stan worked for the Stapleton Insurance Group for 36 years, currently serving as CEO. Stan played an active role in his community.

He was a member of St. Richard Catholic Parish, the Swanton Rotary Club and served on the Fulton County Health Center Board. He looked forward to football season, and was proud “owner’” of the Green Bay Packers.


Stan will be greatly missed by his loving and devoted wife of 37 years, Shawn; his mother, Dorothy Multhauf; sons, Justin (Jessica) Multhauf and Josh (Abbie) Multhauf; grandchildren, Jack, Nora and Cole Multhauf; his sisters, Bonnie (Jerry) Held and Sheryl (Patrick) Hagen; brother, Keith (Therese) Multhauf; as well as many nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

Stan was preceded in death by his father, Norman Multhauf and great-niece, Lexi Held.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 2nd from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton. Visitation will continue Friday, September 3rd from   10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Richard Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m., with Fr. Eric Culler presiding. Interment will follow at St. Richard’s Cemetery.


The family would like to thank Lisa Mitchell and staff at Swanton Health Care & Retirement, as well as Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg, for the exceptional care given to Stan.

Memorial contributions may be made to Glioblastoma Foundation or St. Richard Catholic Church.
