Millcreek-West Unity School Board Discusses Use Of ARP IDEA Dollars

President Heather Jones called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm Monday, September 20th. Superintendent Jim Wyse talked about the upcoming evacuation drills and how it would be useful in rewriting the Safety Plan and the Business Advisory Council Meeting update.

Principal Riley talked about the professional development day on Sept 14th. Mr. Cummins from NWOCA provided training to the staff on OTES 2.0. Mr. Wyse reviewed the building evacuation procedures to complete the review of the safety plan.

A a full-scale evacuation  will take place this week. 7-12 staff building level team assignments were distributed and teams began planning activities for 2021-22 school year.

Mr. Cummins and Mr. Grega provided training on TruTouch display boards. Homecoming activities are set for Friday, October 1st before the varsity football game with Edon.

The homecoming dance has been postponed until November. Enrollment numbers for 2021-22 school year were displayed on the display board.

Traci Thompson talked about the ARP IDEA dollars and asked for input from anyone that had ideas on using the money. The board approved the agenda and minutes for August 2021.

Adopted permanent appropriations by fund for FY22. Approved agreement with Bryan City Schools to provide special education services for 2021-22 school year.

Approved acceptance of Federal Funding through the following grants:

•507 9022 ESSER II
•507 9922 ARP ESSER III
•516 9922 ARP IDEA-B
•587 9922 ARP IDEA-B Early Childhood
•572 9922 Expanding Opportunities

Approved the disposal of library books and tapes. Approved Amanda Nofziger to advance to Masters Salary Schedule.

Approved the following Revenue Increases:

•507 9922 FY22 ARP ESSER III
•516 9922 ARP IDEA_B
•587 9922 ARP IDEA_B Early Childhood
•572 9922 Expanding Opportunities

Approved Nathan Massie Graduate Study Reimbursement.

Approved overnight trips for the FFA to Greenhand Camp 9/24-9/26 and the National FFA Convention 10/27-10/30. Approved employments for 2021-22, approved all donations and approved to sell damaged, aged, pole vault mats, and equipment to the highest bidder.

The meeting adjourned at 6:13 pm. Next meeting is scheduled for October 18 at 6pm.
