(September 30th, 2014)-MONTPELIER: IN NWOAL action, the Locomotives of Montpelier hosted the Swanton Bulldogs. Even with home court advantage, however, the Lady Locos couldn’t take down the Lady Bulldogs, losing the match in straight sets.
Montpelier held their own during game 1, but still lost the set 16-25. Game 2 saw the Locos fall behind early, dropping the set 7-25. In an effort to rally, Montpelier left everything they had on the court in game 3. That effort fell short, however, as they lost the set and the match 17-25.
With 13 digs, 7 kills, 2 assists, and an ace, Sidney Houk led the Lady Locomotives in the loss. Teammate Christy Duchene added 17 digs, 6 assists, and 3 kills. Landri McKelvey contributed 14 assists, 6 digs, and a kill to Montpelier as well.
