Full of questions about Christianity? Not sure what the Bible says about something? Wish there was a book that could answer some of your questions?

Well, look no further as Steve Wilmot has answered forty of those questions in his newest book, FAQ Frequently Asked Questions New Believers Want to Know and Every Believer Needs to Know.

Wilmot shared that over the years, as he taught Bible studies, led small groups and preached sermons, he has heard many if not all of the questions covered in his newest publication.

His FAQ book joins Cornered in Shallow Water (a novel), Do it Scared, Best of Pastors Ponderings, Thirty Days with Joshua and Thirty Days with Joseph.

Some of the 30 chapter titles in the Table of Contents are: Who is Holy Spirit?, What are the key hapbits I should develop for my spiritual journey?, Since I started to follow Jesus, life seems harder.

Is that normal?, Can I ever know for sure I’m saved?, How do I change?, and What if I mess up?

Each one is a short chapter, filled with scripture references and advice from this man who has been a follower of Christ for 57 years and has been in ministry for 46 of those years (five of those in a pastoral role). Some of the topic answers are broken down into more than one chapter.

For himself, his favorite chapter is “Connect with a Few.” “Relationships are so important,” he said. “If you ask someone to think of ten sermons that changed their life or ten people that helped to change their life, more people can think of people.

Sermons are important, but relationships cement the knowledge and the lifestyle changes that are needed.” After a short pause, Wilmot added, “Everyone should have someone from whom they can learn, like Timothy had Paul, and someone they can help, like Paul had Timothy.”

“For the someone from whom you can learn, pray for guidance to choose a person you can trust, who knows, understands and doesn’t judge or condemn.”

“For the someone you can help, pray for guidance to know when someone would benefit from your walk with the Lord.”

Presently Wilmot is working on his seventh book which will be called Thirty Days with Elijah. This summer he will teaching a Bible School class on Elijah at Harvest Fellowship in Ft. Wayne and has decided to wait till after this class to publish his book on Elijah.

“I am sure that as I teach this class, I will be learning a lot from the students and also from the Holy Spirit as He guides me in lesson preparation,” Wilmot said.

Some thought he should get it published in time for the students to purchase one if they want it, but he feels that he will have more good information for that book, during and after the class.

FAQ can be purchased at “Joyful Bird” in Edgerton, the town where Steve and his wife Becki live, or online at Amazon. Prices on Amazon are $5 for the eBook and $10 for the paperback.

Wilmot’s whole desire is to help believers in Christ to grow. His goal is not to become a best-selling author or to get famous.

“I just want to help solve a long-standing oversight of the church, in caring for and preparing Christians, especially new believers, for what to expect in their walk with Christ,” he stated.

The need for discipling is great, as many people are led to Christ, but never trained or taught how to walk the walk. Wilmot is hoping his books will help in that area.
