Montpelier Village Council meeting on October 24, 2022, opened with a moment of silence and Pledge of Allegiance, followed by acceptance of amended agenda for the meeting as well as minutes for October 10 regular meeting and October 17 budget work session.
With no comments from the audience, the mayor moved on to comments from council or committee reports.

Councilor Nathan Thompson reported that he went to the NORTA meeting and they are going to be working on having consistent signage over the next six months.
They plan to hold their annual meeting in March at Drop Tine in Montpelier and getting that set up.
They were advised of the intentions and that was well accepted as the Lucas County people are also on board with what our plans are.
Mayor Steve Yagelski said he was approached by a manufacturing facility owner in Montpelier about housing in Montpelier.
Yagelski said the council is thinking outside the box and are working on the horse trail and the Wabash Cannon Ball trail and what their hopes are for those.
The owner is going to talk with other organizations about housing.
Council voted to accept the resignation of Darold Moore from the park board, with Mayor Yagelski saying that he has served the community in that position for fifteen years.
Sandy Gordan has given a list of names but council was encouraged to give her any other names they may think of for the board.
They also approved:
- Council meeting schedule for 2023, choosing the proposal that would not interfere with Fair Week in September
- Resolution 1357 2023 Appropriations (first reading)
- Resolution 1358 Amending Resolution 1313 (first reading) amending pay scale to put clothing allowance in the resolution
Jason Rockey was not present so report was shared that pre-construction meeting was held and plans are to start the project in December and finish in July.
Council went into executive session to discuss acquisition of property and pending litigation. There was no action taken.
