The March 13 Montpelier Village Council meeting began at 6 p.m. with a prayer, the pledge of allegiance, and roll call.
Present were Councilors Heather Freese, Don Schlosser, and Melissa Ewers. Absent were Council President Nathan Thompson and Councilor Chris Kannel.
Council then administered the Oath of Office to newly appointed Clerk of Council Molly Collert.
Council then approved the minutes from the February 27, 2023 meeting, as well as the financial reports from February 2023.
Council also passed Resolution 1369, which amended budget appropriations to pay for repairs that had to be done due to storm damage.
Jason Rockey then gave the village manager’s report, detailing the many projects that are going on in the village.
Among these are log removal, mailing surveys for project proposal determination, and recapping the Main Street closure Montpelier was to see that week.
There will be a Good Friday Prayer Cruise at 2 p.m. throughout town and at 3 p.m. there will be a service held at St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Council then voted to enter into executive session at 6:21 p.m.
The next Village of Montpelier Council meeting will be held March 27, 2023 at 6 p.m.
