The Wauseon High School presented the musical “Anything Goes” this past week. The musical was held on Friday March 31st and Saturday April 1st at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday April 2nd at 2:00 p.m.

The story itself was first brought to the stage back in 1934 and has since been revived many times on stages across the world.

The musical is set aboard an ocean liner called the S.S. American where a singer and evangelist named Reno Sweeney is traveling from New York to England.

Her friend and crush Billy Crocker stowed away on the ship to be near the woman he loves, Hope Harcourt. However, Hope is currently engaged to a wealthy English Lord named Evelyn Oakleigh.

To make matters even more interesting, Public Enemy #13 Moonface Martin and his sidekick Erma also join in on the ship.

Through many attempts to thwart the ship’s crew and steal his love away from the lord, many comedic moments arise.

Through the use of a large set and numerous props, the cast is able to put forth a great show. Musical numbers sang by the cast members are also completed very well with the students showing once more just how talented they can be.

Overall, the show was put on extremely well and never led to a dull moment. The comedic moments in the show also showed just how much hard work these students put into their performance.
