Starting off the New Year, the Delta FFA hosted their annual 8th Grade Recruitment event that is used as an opportunity to show incoming freshmen a bit about agriculture and the FFA organization.

In several locations of the high school ag students set up different stations with different themes such as what is FFA, leadership, teamwork, and opportunities available through FFA.

There were also hands-on stations such as woodworking, welding, ag power diagnostics, soils, plant science, and animal science.

Mid-day, the chapter provided lunch for the eighth graders, chapter members who were working the event, and the staff that were helping with the event.

Thank you to the Fulton County Pork Producers for sponsoring the pulled pork. Overall, the event was successful and many of the eighth graders seemed very interested in joining our agricultural program and the FFA.

We look forward to the new incoming students who will join the program this fall semester.
