Walter Stanley Heckman was born in Adrian, Michigan.  He resided in Montpelier, Ohio, where he passed away at home six weeks before his 80th birthday.

He worked at Simpson Industries/Metaldyne for 33 years and retired from there.

Walt left behind his wife, Marie, of 26 years; son, Phil Heckman; stepson, Dustin Barras; daughter-in-law, Kaitlyn; stepdaughter, Amber Kreischer and son-in-law, Jason; grandchildren and a great grandchild; also two amazing friends, Lisa and Kyle Courtney, our adopted family.

Walt enjoyed working in his shop, riding motorcycles, driving dune buggies and running RC cars, but his most favorite times were the precious times with family and having cookouts.

His family was most important to him. Walt had an unforgettable sense of humor. He also had a great connection to the universe.

Next time you are out gazing at the stars, know that he will be looking down at you smiling.

The family is planning a celebration of life. Arrangements have been entrusted to Krill Funeral Service, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan.

Condolences may be sent to the family or memories may be shared at www.krillfuneralservice.com
