Steven Garza (1965 – 2023)

Steven Garza, 57 years, of Bryan, passed away Monday, July 17, 2023, at Cleveland Clinic. Steve was born September 13, 1965, in Bryan, Ohio, the son of the late Ignacio and Lupe (Celestino) Garza.

He attended Bryan High School. He married Jamie J. Bishop on November 20, 1999, in Bryan, Ohio, and she survives.

Steve was an electrician for Woolace Electric for 20 years. He then went to work at Brent Electric in Toledo.

Steve enjoyed playing poker, especially Texas Holdem, golfing and helping others when the need arose. He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan and followed the Cleveland Guardians.


Surviving is his wife, Jamie of Bryan; two children, Ashley Garza of Bryan, and Damien McCullough of Bryan; grandchildren, Rylan Garza, Lyrik Garza, Whitney Shilt, Colyn McCullough, and Trynity (Dyllon) Godfrey; four great-grandchildren; many brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation for Steven Garza will be held Monday, July 24, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 Noon in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan, where funeral services will follow at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Kevin Doseck officiating. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions be made to the family.
