Dayton Stantz (1947 – 2023)

Dayton E. Stantz, age 76, of Hicksville, Ohio, passed away at 7:27 A.M. on Wednesday, August 17, 2023, with his family at his side after an extended illness.

Mr. Stantz was a graduate Montpelier High School and was employed for many years as Director of Asset Management for JD Byrider, overseeing the Georgia Region.


He enjoyed fishing and racing, especially drag racing and dirt track racing.  He was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Dayton was a Marine Corps veteran, serving in Vietnam.

Dayton E. Stantz was born on April 11, 1947, in Montpelier, Ohio, the son of Day Dayton and Lola Marie (Manley) Stantz.

He married Elizabeth (Culp) Noel on April 2, 2011, in Montpelier, Ohio and she survives.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Christina (Patrick) Bell, of Edon, Ohio, Dayton Scott (Cindy) Stantz, of Montpelier, Peter Mark (Audra) Stantz-Hoffman, of Hicksville, Corey (Denise) Stantz, of Archbold, Ohio, John Noel, of Lima, Ohio, Todd Noel, of Lebanon, Ohio,  Michelle (Scott) Morgan, of Mechanicsburg, Ohio and Julie Clark, of Brazil, Indiana; twenty-four grandchildren; forty-one great-grandchildren; and one sister, Carma Greathouse, of Bryan, Ohio.


He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Donna Ellis and June Crowl.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, from 3:00-7:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Street, Edgerton.  Private interment will take place in West Jefferson Cemetery.

Memorials are requested to the Life Changing Church.
