(April 4th, 2015) – WAUSEON: After four innings of very little offense, the Indians put together monstrous back to back innings of hitting to end their second game on the day against Lima Shawnee early.
By the end of six innings of play, the game was called due to the mercy rule as Wauseon defeated Lima 10-0.
The game went three innings before a run was scored. Wauseon put 1 run on the scoreboard before returning to their scoring drought in the fourth. But it was the fifth inning that saw the Indian offense come alive. With a 4 run outing in the bottom of the fifth, the boys of Wauseon suddenly found themselves up by 5 runs. They doubled that lead in the sixth inning, bringing home 5 of their runners. With a 10 run advantage beyond the fifth inning, the game was called early.
Brady Kinnersley gave the Indians a boost at the plate. He went a perfect 4 for 4, knocking in 3 RBIs. Another Wauseon batter, Caleb Andrews, made the most of his 1 hit on the contest, using it to earn 3 RBIs as well. Going 2 for 4 from the plate, Jeremiah Kauffman also brought in an RBI.
Kinnersley also served as the Indians’ pitcher, throwing a complete game. He gave up no runs, and just 4 hits against Lima.
