Paul Roger Riegsecker, age 84, of Wauseon, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on September 30, 2023 at his home.
He was born in West Unity, OH on March 29, 1939 to Clarence Riegsecker and Irene (Bourn) Riegsecker. Paul graduated from Wauseon High School in 1957.
On November 6, 1960 he married the late Janice Bishop and shared 62 loving years together until her passing on April 16, 2023.
Paul was a Veteran having served with the U.S Army. He was a lifelong farmer as owner of Riegsecker Farms.
Paul enjoyed training horses for harness racing and was a member of the Harness Racing Association along with the Fulton County Farm Bureau.
Along with his passion for farming and horses, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and wintering in Florida with his wife, Janice. Family will always remember Paul’s blue golf cart, which he drove everywhere and often gave rides to his great grandchildren.
Left to care on his legacy is his son, Allen (Terra) Riegsecker of Wauseon; grandchildren, Kasey (Mark) Estel, Erica (Bubba) Cundick, Breeanna and Bryce Riegsecker; great grandchildren, Kogan Estel, Aleaha Estel, Parker Riegsecker, Easton Estel, Maddox Estel and Beau Cundick; sisters, Sara Strauss, Dianne Galbraith and Jean Hayward; brother-in-law, Don Colon and sisters-in-law, Sharon Riegsecker and Carol Spor.
In addition to his parents and wife, Janice, Paul was preceded in death by his brother, Charles S. Riegsecker in 2020.
Friends will be received from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at the Barnes Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 5825 St. Hwy. 109 in Delta. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 6, 2023 also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Winameg Cemetery in Delta. Pastor Maryann Reimund will be officiating.
