Scott Duncan (1966 – 2023)

Scott Eric Duncan, age 57, of Ithaca, MI, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023, at Maple View Assisted Living Inc. with his wife by his side.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 28, 2023, with Pastor Doug Strait officiating.  Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M, until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Little Point Sable Cemetery in Benona Township, MI at a later date.

Scott was born in Dayton, OH on October 9, 1966, the son Fred and Sharon (Sutton) Duncan. He graduated from Evergreen High School in Metamora, OH with the class of 1985.


On February 17, 2001, Scott married Gretchen Jean Revett at the Auburn United Methodist Church, Auburn, IN. They were blessed with over twenty-two years of marriage.

Scott was a history buff with a passion for the Civil War and loved to read. He was a National Park Ranger for over five years and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gunsmithing.

He also was Firefighter/EMT for many years for departments in Lyons-Royalton Township, OH, City of Delphos OH, and Ponca, NE.


Scott was a Safety Systems Manager for ZFS Ithaca for the last several years. Scott and Gretchen want to offer their special thanks to Scott’s co-workers at ZFS Ithaca for their continued care, support and helping to care for their beloved dog Remington Winchester Decoy; they have been such good friends.

Scott is survived by his wife Gretchen, parents Fred and Sharon, one sister Pam Duncan, and three nephews: Conner, Brody, and Jeffrey Friess.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Maple View Retirement Community Hospice Suite, 4396 S. Luce Road, Ithaca, MI 48847.
