Sponsors Needed For 2024 Williams County Wreaths Across America

Williams County has seen a decline in the number of wreaths spread across cemeteries to honor those who have sacrificed for our country.

Amid location confusion, it would seem that volunteers came to multiple cemeteries throughout the area only to find no one there.

“It’s really disappointing to see, I mean we come out here to volunteer our time to honor those that deserve it most, and there isn’t anything here for them,” shared one saddened veteran volunteer.

There were two successful ceremonies throughout Williams County – one in Edon and one at Floral Grove Cemetery.

While Edon and Floral Grove got the annual honor, the smaller, older, and, often, more rural cemeteries are finding themselves forgotten.

It is with this in mind that those who support our veterans, and work to honor them as best they can, urge everyone to take a little bit of time this holiday season to remember those who gave up their lives in service of protecting the rights that allow us to celebrate at all.

Wreath sponsorship is the biggest hurdle, but it doesn’t have to be.  Let’s revere those who paid the ultimate price to our country, and see that cemeteries across Williams County will see their veterans honored through the annual Wreaths Across America program next year.
