Kommon Kravings is back open and serving up coffees, bubble teas, smoothies, homemade ice cream, and bakery items! They’ve been a local favorite in Montpelier since they first opened their doors in April of 2018.
Known over the years for their specialty coffee drinks as well as their premium homemade ice creams, they’ve been the place to go in the small town, whether you needed a pick me up coffee or cone or just a conversation.
Unfortunately, in November of 2022 they were forced to close their doors at their original location of 217 W Main Street. This was due to structural problems with the building they resided in, which ultimately caused for it to be torn down just a month after they closed the shop.
Now, after being closed for a year and a half, they have reopened their doors at a new location, 416 W Main Street. Kommon Kravings now resides in their own building and they even have a drive through as well.
Perfect for those needing to be on the go a little quicker or for the mother with children who doesn’t want to unload and reload with the chance of spilling her much needed coffee.
The owners, Mandi and Lonnie Sisco, didn’t originally know what would happen after they had to leave their past location but they knew one thing was for sure, they were dedicated to staying in the Montpelier community which has always supported them.
It was through those connections and supports in the village that allowed them to be able to propel past such a big setback for their business and to be able to reopen their doors.
Kommon Kravings held their grand re-opening on Friday, May 10th, which also happened to be National Small Business Day. The Village of Montpelier held a ribbon cutting ceremony at 3:00 p.m. and afterwards Kommon Kravings held celebratory festivities at Founder’s Park which they reside right next to.
They had local Four Of A Kind Entertainment LLC there, which provided music as well as their Furry Overstuffed Animal Karts (FOAK).
Also there, was Heart at Home CC by Devin Payne and Kayla Stoy. A home care and spa business providing home care, massage therapy, skin care, nails, lashes, waxing and more. Heart at Home provided 15 minute massages at the grand re-opening for only $10.
Mandi and Lonnie would like to recognize several individuals and companies who held a huge role in helping their dream of operating their own business come back to life.
Those being: Benaiah Harris, Doug Heeres, Chris Kannel, Owen’s Electric LLC, Martin Mechanical and Callaway Concrete Construction.
Kommon Kravings is excited to be back open for the community and appreciate all the continued support they receive. Their business will be open year-round. For now, they will be open Monday-Saturday from 6:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday – Closed.
These are their winter hours, but once school is out later this month they will switch to their summer hours of Monday-Saturday 6:30 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday – Closed.
