Donald R. Weber

Donald R. Weber Sr, age 86, of Delta, peacefully passed away Friday evening, July 17, 2015 at the Toledo Hospital. He was born in Whitehouse, OH on January 15, 1929 to the late Howard “Jake” Weber and Ruth (Fuller) Weber. On September 18, 1954 he married Delcie Fletcher and she survives.

The day after turning 17, he joined the U.S Navy and Coast Guard and served during the end of WWII. During his active duty, Don was in the Bikina Atoll Atomic Bomb Test. After his service time he graduated from the Chicago Illinois Commercial Trades Institute on December 4, 1951. Don retired in 1992 from Teneco Corp. in Napoleon.

He was active with the Delta American Legion Post #373, Boy Scouts and was a member of the Delta Eagles.

Along with his wife of 60 years, Delcie; he is survived by his children, Donald (Penny) Weber Jr of Delta, Kim (Dale) Keefer of Swanton and Lori (Rick) Orner of Sylvania; brother, Kenneth Weber; grandchildren, Charles, Lisa, and Lucas Keefer, Don, and Christina Weber, Kelly (Steve) Warner, Ricky and Vanessa Orner, and Rickilee (Jeremy) Fountain; great grandchildren, Aiden, Kaia and Logan Warner, Gabrielle Orner, Caydence Wills, Brooklynn, Braden and Brealeigh Fountain.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his brothers, Howard, James and John Weber; and sisters, Evelyn Huber, Joyce Fravor, Roseann Frees and Lila Ellinger.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Fulton County Honor Guard, 1270 S. Cornell Ln., Wauseon, Ohio 43567 or a charity of the donor’s choice in Don’s memory. Online condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.barnesfuneralchapel.com
