Norma Fay Burrowes, 81 years, of West Unity, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015 in the emergency room of Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers, with her family at her side. Norma was born March 9, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of the late Howard and Frances (Young) Phelps, Sr. Norma was a 1952 graduate of Lake Orion High School. She married Dr. Raymond R. Burrowes on January 10, 1953 in Lake Orion, Michigan. Norma began her working career at Sears & Roebuck Company, working in their catalog department. She then assisted her husband as the Office Manager for his Jefferson Veterinary Clinic, retiring in 1983. Norma was a member of Solid Rock Community Church in West Unity, and Celebration Beach Church in Naples Florida. She was also a member of the 3 Arts Club of West Unity. Norma enjoyed traveling, camping with the Lake Orion Camping Group and spending their winters in Naples, Florida. Her favorite thing in the whole wide world would be spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.
Surviving is her husband, Dr. Raymond of West Unity; five children, Noray (Duane) Clark of Bowling Green, Ohio, Mark (Kris) Burrowes of Solon, Iowa, Bruce (Melody) Burrowes of West Unity, Scott (Brenda) Burrowes of Charlotte, North Carolina and Lisa (Mike) King of West Unity; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; one brother, Howard (Jean) Phelps of Lake Orion, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents.
