The Board of Education for Archbold Area Schools met for a Special Board Meeting on Monday, June 8th.

Addressing just a handful of items, the board accepted the resignation of high school math teacher and wrestling coach Brian Becher who served the district for 25 years.

Taking Becher’s place on the academic front will be 2005 Archbold graduate Bradley Hurst. Hurst returns to his home school district bringing with him 11 years of teaching experience from Holgate Schools and will be teaching math at Archbold.

The board also accepted the resignations of Ricardo Avila, educational aide, and Amya Coulon, middle school playground aide. Also approved by the board was a 2023-2024 fifth quarter grant supplemental contract for 5.27 days for Ag teacher Ryan Sell.

The next Archbold Board of Education meeting will be held on Monday, August 19 at 4:30 p.m.
