Donna Buehrer (1929 – 2024)

Donna Lee Buehrer, 95, of Archbold Ohio passed away on July 13, 2024 at Fairlawn Haven in Archbold.

Born February 17, 1929 she was the daughter of Paul and Helen (Moll) Ruffer.

Donna spent her early years in Bryan, Ohio, then moved to Ridgeville Corners, Ohio her freshman year of high school, where she graduated valedictorian.


There she met William Buehrer, whom she married on May 6, 1951 and who preceded her in death in 2020.

Donna was a talented seamstress, owned her own interior decorating business, and taught interior decorating at Four County Career Center. Donna was also an avid quilter, having won many awards in the Sauder Village Quilt Shows.

She enjoyed sharing her creations with family and friends and held a quilt camp for some of her granddaughters. She also volunteered as a quilter at Sauder Village and sewed for Fairlawn Haven.


Donna was a lifelong member of St. John’s Christian Church of Archbold as well as a long-time board member of the Archbold Community Library. Donna loved spending time in her second home in Sarasota, Florida.

Donna is survived by her sons Robert (Jude), Tupper Lake, NY, Neil (Nanette), Salisbury, NC, Todd (Ruthann), Hampshire, IL, Ben (Susan), Stryker, OH, Sam (Ellen), Evansville, IN, Paul (Wendy), Oregon, OH and daughter, Mary (Alex) Perrin, Plymouth, MI; Grandchildren Emily (Sean Douglas) Buehrer-Douglas, Lydia (Kenny Bussey) Buehrer, Nicole Buehrer, Nathaniel Buehrer, Christine (Chesrae) Garcia, Noah Buehrer, Cara Buehrer, Stephen Buehrer, David Buehrer and Cameron Perrin; Great Grandchildren, Grayson Garcia, Elijah Douglas and Sophia Douglas; sister Barb (Ward) Stuckey, three sister-in-laws Joan Ruffer, of Stryker Ohio, Norma Ruffer, of Archbold, Ohio and Carol Ruffer of Bryan Ohio, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Lou (Penrod) Nemire, brothers Richard, William and Kent Ruffer, a grandchild and great grandchild.

Visitation for Donna will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, August 31, 2024 at St. John’s Christian Church in Archbold. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M.


The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Christian Church or Archbold Community Library. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.grisierfh.com. Grisier Funeral Home in Archbold has been entrusted with arrangements.
