Timothy Armitage (1954 – 2024)

Timothy J. Armitage, age 70, of Hicksville, Ohio, passed away at 6:15 P.M. on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Tim was a 1972 graduate of Edgerton High School and later received his teaching certificate from the University of Toledo.

Tim taught at Four County Career Center in the S.M.A.R.T. lab for over 25 years prior to his retirement.

He was a member of First Church of Christ in Hicksville and the Hicksville Fraternal Order of Eagles.


Tim was active with his kids and grandkids, loved watching their sporting events and coached in the Hicksville Baseball Association for several years. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and taking fishing trips to Canada with his friends.

Timothy J. Armitage was born on August 15, 1954, in Edgerton, Ohio, the son of Charles A. and Betty J. (McKinley) Armitage.  He married Carol L. (Tonneas) Metz on August 5, 1988, at Coburn Corners, Indiana, and she preceded him in death on June 29, 2023.

Tim is survived by his children, Heather R. Smith, of Hicksville, Matthew (Laca) Armitage, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Nathan (Katelyn) Metz, of Hicksville, and Miranda (Roberto) Ramon II, of Paulding, Ohio; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and brothers, Robert (Kay) Armitage, of Bonaire, Georgia and Michael (Linda) Armitage, of Edgerton. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carol and son-in-law, Doug Smith.


Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 11:00 A.M.-2:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton. Services will follow at 2:00 P.M. in the funeral home with Pastor Eric Bass officiating.  He will be laid to rest at Maple Grove Cemetery with Carol.
