Karen Robison (1950 – 2024)

November 11, 2024No Comments2 Mins Read

Karen A. Robison, 74, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family in the care of hospice. Karen was born in Bryan on September 25, 1950 to Henry and Betty Moog.

She was a 1969 graduate of Montpelier High School, where she participated in chorus, basketball and volleyball. She married Robert Robison on July 15, 1973 and he survives.

Karen was employed at Beam Stream, BCP, and finally retiring after 30+ years from JCIM. Karen and Bob purchased one of the first homes on Merry Lake where they built an entire life filled with boating, skiing, campfires, fishing and lake parties.

She loved all sports, but was an especially skilled poker, dice, billiards, and cornhole player. In addition to being an expert gambler in these fields, Karen was an even better teacher to any young kid that walked through her door with a dollar.

Karen never missed an opportunity to attend her grandchildren’s sporting events while bravely battling the cold, rain, snow, and wind to make sure that she was in attendance.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years Bob; daughters Krista (Ryan) Isenhower and Terra (Alex) Kidston of Pioneer; four grandchildren, Gage Kidston, Gisele Kidston, Brooklyn Isenhower, and Brycen Isenhower; five stepsisters Deanna Tillman, Marsha Klear, Deb Fivecoate, Debbie Martin, Tamy Gressett.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, brother Tracy Moog, sister Judy Geiger, six stepbrothers Danny DeVlaminck, Donnie DeVlaminck, Bub DeVlaminck, Mike Karns, David Moog and Dennis Moog; Stepsister; Susie Hoops.

Visitation for Karen will be on Wednesday, November 13th from 3-7pm at the Thompson Funeral Home, 204 East Main Street in Montpelier, due to renovations at the funeral home in Pioneer. Services will be on Thursday at 11am at the funeral home in Montpelier. Interment will follow at Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer.
