Barbara Ann Thiel, age 87, passed away on early Sunday morning, December 8, 2024 at the Laurels of DeKalb, Butler, IN.
Barbara was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and was active with the Rosary Alter Society. For many years she babysat and had a large garden. She enjoyed quilting and had made over 100 quilts.
Barbara was born on October 8, 1937 in Edgerton, the daughter of Casimir P. and Kathryn E. (Batt) Herman. She married Darrel M. Thiel on June 1, 1957 in Edgerton and he preceded her in death on April 3, 2019.
Barbara is survived by her children, Reba McCain, of Edgerton, Theresa (Patrick) Combs, of Phoenix, AZ, Daniel (Connie) Thiel, Gregg (Melinda) Thiel, Dean (Lisa) Thiel, Sonia (Dino) Flower and Vince (Shellie) Thiel, all of Edgerton and Shane (Desery) Thiel, of Findlay; 22 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and siblings, Elaine Mohley, Donald Herman, Ambrose (Mary) Herman and Cletus (Rita) Herman, all of Edgerton and Edward (Nancy) Herman, of Southern Pines, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson, Jesse and sisters, Mary Kathryn Burns and Phyllis Arend.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, from 3:00-7:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 114 E. Hull Street, Edgerton, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 317 South Locust Street, Edgerton, OH with Reverend Daniel Borgelt officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Edgerton.
