The annual Shop with A Cop Program returned to Williams County this year and was bigger and better than ever.

Law enforcement agencies from throughout Williams County participated in a long-standing tradition members of law enforcement have had with their communities.

On Saturday, December 14th, agencies worked with hundreds of kids from throughout the county. Officers walked up and down the aisles of Bryan Walmart with children as they looked for the items that would take home this Christmas season.

This special time for the children is echoed by officers, who also get the special experience of spending time with our area’s youth.

Some of that time is not spent all in the store though. Children were split into two groups, with half starting their day at Walmart, and the other half spending some time with officers over at the movie theater.

There, the children were able to experience a movie and some snacks. After so long, the two groups swapped, allowing for both groups to each activity.

With over $15,000.00 being donated to the program this year, allowing for hundreds of kids to have this experience, it just goes to show how much the Christmas Spirit is alive and well in our area.
