The Fulton County Board of Commissioners convened for its regular session on August 14, tackling a range of fiscal, infrastructure, and administrative matters. Commissioners Jeff Rupp and Jon Rupp were both present as the meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance, a moment of prayer, and roll call.
Following approval of the previous meeting’s minutes and the day’s agenda, the commissioners moved forward with several resolutions focused on budgetary adjustments and departmental needs.
Among the highlights was Resolution 2025-515, which approved a series of appropriation adjustments. Notably, the resolution included an increase of $45,000 to the Building Improvement Fund to help with ongoing construction costs at the Fulton County Office Building.
Additional funds were also designated for the transfer station and law enforcement, reflecting the county’s continuing investments in both infrastructure and safety.
The board also reviewed and approved Resolution 2025-516, authorizing a change order for the Village of Delta Waterline Replacement Project. The modification adjusts the existing agreement with the Great Lakes Community Action Partnership to reflect updated costs for the project.
These changes are being managed through the county’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, which helps smaller communities with essential infrastructure repairs.
Another important move came with Resolution 2025-517, which allowed the disposal of obsolete or no-longer-usable property from the Fulton County Clerk of Courts office.
These items, deemed unfit for public use, will be removed from inventory in accordance with county policy.
The commissioners also signed off on routine purchase orders and travel requests under Resolution 2025-518, ensuring departments have the necessary authorizations for ongoing operations.
The meeting included a scheduled bid opening for the Bridge D8.6 Replacement Project in Gorham Township. Engineering staff collected sealed bids and will now review them before presenting a recommendation at an upcoming session.
In addition to the usual agenda, the board received a brief update from representatives with the Great Lakes Community Action Partnership, providing insight into current and upcoming projects within the region.
The meeting concluded with announcements for future public sessions, including a hearing scheduled for August 21 at 9:15 a.m., during which the commissioners will address a proposed ditch improvement petition (2025-001: Shoemaker Ditch) in German Township.
