BBC GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS: Pettisville Caps Off Perfect Record In BBC With League Tournament Title

WAUSEON (September 18, 2025) – Pettisville put the final wraps capturing the Buckeye Border Conference golf championship at Ironwood Golf Couse on Thursday, September 18.

After posting a perfect 7-0 BBC dual match campaign, the Blackbirds went out and took care of business winning the conference tournament with a 301 score.


Montpelier was runner-up in the tourney with a 314 followed by Hilltop 350, Holgate 350, Stryker 371, North Central 372, Fayette 377, and Edon 461.

Kenneth Smeltzer of Montpelier captured individual tourney honors with a 70 and Pettisville’s Jack Leppelmeier was runner-up with a 72.

Leppelmeier was also named the BBC’s player of the year based upon overall individual dual match and tournament results.


The all-conference golf team was selected combining both dual match and tournament results. Joining Smeltzer and Leppelmeier on the first team were Owen Sommer of Montpelier, Wyatt Meyer of Holgate, Graycen Osterday of Pettisville and Rylee Bevard of Pettisville.

Second team honors went to Gavin Knierim of Pettisville, Austin Gault of Hilltop, Kaleb Wyse of Pettisville, Creighton Aeschliman of Pettisville, Jordan Schaffner of Hilltop and C.J. Fidler of Montpelier.

Earning honorable mention honors were Kade Stewart of Montpelier, Chandler Lloyd of Stryker, Malachi Smeltzer of Montpelier, Micah Rossman of Hilltop, Jaxson Gray of Holgate and Aiden Wagner of Holgate.
