BRYAN – Evergreen and Bryan hooked up in a high scoring Northwest Ohio Athletic League donnybrook and the Vikings eventually held on for a 41-38 victory over the Golden Bears.

Quinten Eisel was quite busy for Evergreen (5-1, 2-1 NWOAL) scoring three times including a 60-yard kickoff return in the third quarter.

Eisel, who finished with 131 yards on the ground on 18 carries and caught five passes for 99 yards, also scored on a 62-yard pass from Bryce Bolger in the second quarter and a 29-yard touchdown run to seal it in the fourth quarter.

Bolger was 8 of 11 for 181 yards and a pair of passing scores for Evergreen. Will Ruetz, who caught a 24-yard scoring pass in the first quarter, had two catches for 66 yards.

Freshman quarterback Jake Arnold put together a career passing night for Bryan. He was 15 of 21 for 251 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 83 yards and another score.

Two of his scoring strikes went to Anthony Weber covering 10 and 21 yards and Easton Kerr caught a 30-yard TD pass in the fourth quarter. Weber had five catches for 66 yards and Kerr added four grabs for 60 yards.

Cade Carlin, who tallied 71 yards rushing for Bryan, also scored on a two-yard run. Carter Luce, who had booted a 32-yard field goal in the first quarter for Bryan, was also a perfect 6 of 6 on extra-point kicks. Bryan outgained Evergreen, 455-357, in total offense.

Both teams return to league action on Friday as Bryan hosts winless Swanton (0-6, 0-3 NWOAL) while Evergreen entertains unbeaten Liberty Center (6-0, 3-0 NWOAL).
