FINDLAY (September 29, 2025) – Archbold and Wauseon girls’ golf teams have waged quite a battle over the past couple of weeks on the links as both teams have qualified for the Division II state tournament after earning their ticket in the district tournament held at Sycamore Springs Golf Course.

Two weeks ago, it was Archbold who emerged as the Northwest Ohio Athletic League champion, with Wauseon finishing as league runner-up.

In the Ironwood sectional, once again, Archbold was the champion and Wauseon was the runner-up. And for the first time in NWOAL history, both the Streaks and Indians will be carrying the league banner to state this weekend.

Archbold won the district title with a 369 score, just edging out runner-up Bucyrus Wynford, which finished with a 379.

Brie Grime led the Streaks with an 83, followed by Brooklyn Rodriguez 92, Ella Yoder 95, Payton Dominique 99, and Makenna Bickel 103.

Wauseon grabbed the third state qualifying berth, finishing with a score of 379. Van Buren claimed the fourth and final team qualifying spot with a 382.

Ruth Shelt led the Indians with a round of 78, followed by Hayden Konieczka 92, Kali Spangler 104, Alexia Perez 105, and Sophia Medina 116.

Rounding out the team standings were St Henry (386), Minster (388), New Bremen (394), Hopewell-Loudon (395), Wayne Trace (398), Old Fort (406), Otsego (407), Milan Edison (416), Montpelier (421), Napoleon (429), and Colonel Crawford (432).

Brynn Richmond led Montpelier with a 103, followed by Hannah Martin 105, Neriah Thorp 105, Myleigh Dye 108, and Lillian Mahan 112.

Other area individual results were MacKenzie Grahn of Delta (10th, 87), Sophie Eustace of North Central (T38th,100), and Aubree Perdew of Delta (T52nd, 103).

The Division II girls state tournament will be held Monday and Tuesday, October 6-7, at Heatherwoode Golf Club in Springboro.
