WEST UNITY – Pettisville took a huge step in the Buckeye Border Conference volleyball title race with a 17-25, 25-16, 25-16, 25-17 victory over Hilltop.

Naomi Richer had a big night for the Blackbirds (10-9, 4-1 BBC). She was a perfect 17 of 17 from the serving line with two aces and also recorded 25 kills and 25 digs. Miriam Richer was 19 of 20 from the serving line with one ace along with three kills and 17 digs.

Brooklyn Kuszmaul was a perfect 14 of 14 from the serving line for Hilltop (14-6, 3-2 BBC). She was also 19 of 21 in serve receive, 11-11 passing and recorded 16 digs.


Hayden JoHantgen was 9 of 12 serving along with 16-19 passing, 52-54 setting with 18 assists, eight digs and 18-20 attacks with six kills.
