DELTA (October 17, 2025) – The Delta Panthers ran past the Evergreen Vikings 50-6 Friday night at home to stay in the Division V Region 18 with one week remaining in the regular season.

In their first drive and throughout the game, the Panthers relied on sophomore running backs Marcus Nagel and Gunner Taylor, along with junior running back Vincent Martinez.

Traversing four sets of downs, they moved from their own 43-yard line to the Evergreen 4, burning seven minutes off the clock by the time Nagel carried it in for their first touchdown. Senior kicker Alex York put in the point after to put Delta up 7-0.

The Vikings struggled early, with a pass slapped down by junior defensive lineman Archer Andrews on first down, no gain on second, and an incomplete pass on third, followed by an error on the punt attempt to turn the ball over on their own 11-yard line after just 49 seconds of play.

Nagel carried it five yards for Delta on their first play, then the rest of the way on their second, bringing the score to 14-0 with York’s kick with 42 more seconds elapsed.

Evergreen seemed ready to repeat their prior drive after three plays that moved the ball just one yard, but a 52-yard pass to senior Quinten Eisel put them at first and goal.

Three more plays netted just two yards before senior quarterback Bryce Bolger carried it in for the Vikings’ only score of the game.

The point after attempt by junior kicker Alex Mossing was knocked down by Taylor to leave them down 14-6 with just over a minute remaining in the first quarter.

Delta chewed up the field and the clock with their running game, grinding 65 yards across 14 plays with Nagel leading the way, along with support from Taylor and Martinez, crossing into the second quarter.

By the time Nagel ran in his third touchdown of the night, less than half of the quarter remained. York’s kick gave them a 21-6 lead.

With their passing game starting to come together, the Vikings began marching methodically downfield all the way to the Delta eight-yard line for first and goal, but after a false start pushed them back five yards, Bolger’s pass attempt was tipped into the hands of Taylor, who was downed at the Panther 21-yard line.

The interception may have stopped the momentum of the Vikings, but Delta was unable to capitalize, going three and out and kicking it away.

It seemed like Evergreen was going to mount another solid drive despite the clock running down, but after earning a first down, Bolger threw another interception, this time to Martinez, who picked it off in the end zone with 18 seconds remaining in the half.

After going three and out to start the second half, Evergreen caught a facemask penalty on the punt to give the ball to Delta on the Vikings’ 28-yard line.

Five plays later, Martinez carried in his first touchdown of the night, along with York, but the Panthers were up 28-6.

Another Evergreen three-and-out was followed by another punt flub, with the ball snapped over the head of Mossing, who recovered the ball, dropped it, and recovered it again as he was downed on their own 5-yard line, turning it over on downs.

Three attempts left the Panthers with one yard to go, and Nagel carried in his fourth touchdown. A two-point attempt found success via a run by Martinez to bring the score to 36-6.

The Vikings stretched their next set of downs into six plays via a pair of penalties against themselves for holding and for an ineligible man downfield, also losing five yards due to a sack by senior Panther Dominic Salyers.

Still on their own 25, Evergreen chose to go for it on fourth and 15, but only gained 10 yards, turning it over at the 35 in the first play of the fourth quarter.

A flag for pass interference and a 16-yard run by Nagel earned a pair of first downs before Nagel brought in his fifth touchdown on a four-yard run. York’s kick put the score at 43-6.

Evergreen put up another turnover on downs, as Bolger was sacked again by Salyers at the Vikings’ 27-yard line on fourth down.

Two more runs by Nagel resulted in another touchdown, and another successful York kick gave the Panthers a 50-6 lead.

Nagel finished the game with 154 yards on 27 totes and six touchdowns. Bolger fronted the Vikings’ offense by going 13/28 passing for 156 yards.
