(Enjoyed Antique Shows & Camping)

Iris F. Kreuz, of Berkey, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her home at 11:10 pm on Sunday evening, October 26, 2025, surrounded by her beloved daughters, just shy of her 92nd birthday. She was born October 27, 1933 in Toledo, Ohio.

Iris was a 1951 graduate of Bedford High School. Her life was dedicated to her family as a homemaker raising three wonderful daughters.

As the children grew and pursued their education, she finally got her driver’s license at the age of 38, and began working in the cafeteria at Notre Dame Academy, where her hard work and giving nature shone brightly.

Known for her love of life, Iris kept herself busy with a host of interests that made her truly unique. She had a passion for thrift shopping, always on the lookout for bargains at garage sales.

Iris also operated an antique booth at the Blissfield Antique Mall and enjoyed traveling to antique shows. Her love for camping and adventurous spirit took her to Upper Michigan and through the Amish country, where she relished exploring new places and finding treasures.

A member of Holy Trinity Parish in Assumption, Iris’s faith was an integral part of her life. Iris often shared her most cherished moments supporting her grandchildren at their school events, a testament to her devotion and commitment to her family.

Iris’s legacy carries on through her daughters, Denise (Donald “Pete”) Farley, Diane Freytag, and Linda (David) Decker; her grandchildren—Jamie (Jessica) Farley, Daniel (Erica) Farley, Corrie (Craig) Thornton, Eric (Adrienne) Freytag, Tamara (Dan) Fiske, Ashley (Eli) Koehler, Nicky Smith and Megan Johnston—and her great-grandchildren, Mak, Izzy, Michael, Jake, Alivia, Garrett, Weston, Izaiah, Benny, Evy, Karlie, Joshua, and Rose. She is also survived by her sisters, Sharon Ketcham and Lois Kimberly.

Iris was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Tom Kreuz, as well as her parents, Mildred and Raymond Monroe, her brothers, Thomas Monroe and Marvin Monroe, and her sister, Carol Schultz.

Her joyful spirit, hardworking nature, and remarkable generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 31st from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Weigel Funeral Home in Metamora, Ohio. Visitation will continue Saturday, November 1st from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Assumption, where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 am, with Father Jeremy Miller presiding. Interment will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Richfield Twp. Fire Department or the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance.
