PETTISVILLE (January 16, 2026) – The Pettisville Blackbirds were in control throughout their Buckeye Border Conference matchup with the Edon Bombers on Friday night as they cruised to a 47-25 win.
From tip off, Pettisville presented a smothering defense, forcing a pass out of bounds to get the ball and leading to a trey from senior Jack Leppelmeier.
It would be the first of four three pointers in an 18-point run lasting into the second quarter.

After Leppelmeier’s trey, sophomore Alex Galvin added one and freshman Zander Hogrefe two more before Galvin put in a buzzer-beating basket to end the first quarter14-0.
Senior Creighton Aeschliman and junior Ryan Bishop each got a basket early in the second.
Just over two minutes into the quarter, the Bombers put up their first points with a trey from junior Corbin Chrisman, followed immediately by a basket from Bishop. Christman later stole the ball for another eventual three.
Leppelmeier put in his own basket before immediately stealing the ball leading to a Blackbird shooting frenzy that ended in another basket for Leppelmeier. A trey from Edon junior Kadin Stantz and basket from Aeschliman ended the half with the Blackbirds up 26-9.
The third quarter brought more of the same, with junior Rafael Gonzalez-Ariza sinking a basket and senior Briggs Gallehue a pair of free throws for the only Bomber points of the quarter.
On the Blackbird side, Galvin and Hogrefe put in threes, joined by Leppelmeier with a basket and free throw to put the score at 35-13 going into the final quarter.
Play evened out in the fourth quarter, with each team notching 12 points. Standouts came in a Leppelmeier stolen ball breakaway for a layup and a long, nothing-but-net trey from Stantz at the end of the game, giving Pettisville the 47-25 win.
