The Northwest Ohio Athletic League will be well represented this coming weekend in the Ohio High School Wrestling Coaches Association State Dual Meet Tournament as Archbold and Delta both qualified their respective teams following Division III district dual meet competition on Saturday, February 7.

The state dual meet tournament takes place on Saturday, February 14 at Marion Elgin High School.

Both teams representing the Rossford District won their respective brackets as Archbold claimed the upper bracket title on the Bluestreaks home mat and Delta taking the lower bracket title at Genoa High School.

Archbold cruised past Sycamore Mohawk, 64-8, in the semifinal bout. Layne Miller recorded the lone Bluestreak pin at 150 pounds with a 40-second fall over Adam Patrizi.

Also winning matches for the Blue Streaks were Hunter Warner, who posted a technical fall at 190 pounds. Isaac Brown won by major decision at 132 pounds. Jayden Booth (157) and Ashton Stuckey (165) both won by decision.

In the finals, Archbold squared off against NWOAL archrival Liberty Center, and it was the Blue Streaks who prevailed with a 52-21 victory over the Tigers.

The Bluestreaks took advantage of six pins, two decisions and a major decision to earn their ticket to the state duals.

Winning by fall for Archbold were Lars Soles (126), Trey Weirauch (132), Kayden Wellman (144), Booth (157), Stuckey (165) and Hunter Warner (190). Brenden Bosco (106) won by major decision. Miller (150) and Ethan Bowman (175) won by decision.
