STRYKER BOARD OF EDUCATION: Bruce Rosebrock Appointed To Vacant Board Seat

The Stryker Local Board of Education met in regular session on Tuesday, February 17 in the high school meeting room.

The Board approved the appointment of Bruce Rosebrock to fill the open seat vacated by Dan Hughes. His term begins on February 17, 2026, through December 31, 2027.

Several donations were accepted:

-$120 to the girls basketball program from an anonymous donor.

-$793.19 for a gym floor cleaning tool from Stryker Athletic Boosters.

-$4,349 from an anonymous donor to the Junior Class Concessions fund.

-$214 for outstanding school fees from Bobie Williams, in memory of Dennis Wisniewski.

Approval was given for the board to transfer funds of $390,000 from the general fund to the permanent improvement construction fund and $955.51 (derived from Scholastic Book Fair profits) from the general fund to the Therapy Dog Fund.

The board approved the revised Foundation Deduction Agreement in the amount of $260,625.93 related to the annual special education services contract with the Northwest Ohio Educational Service Center. The original amount was $400,775.36.

In other action, the board approved the following items:

-A resolution accepting the amounts and rates as determined by the Budget Commission and authorizing the necessary tax levies and certifying them to the County Auditor for the fiscal year commencing July 1, 2026.

-A service agreement for behavior consulting services with the Northwest Ohio Educational Service Center for the period from February 17, 2026, through June 15, 2026, at a rate of $131.00 per hour.

-The revised Superintendent’s contract as presented.

-The resignation of Shelby DeGroff as tutor effective February 13, 2026.

-The appointment of Adam Andres as volunteer junior high baseball assistant coach for the 2025-26 school year.

-Membership with the Ohio High School Athletic Association for the 2026-27 school year.

-The early graduation of Jade DeGraffenreid effective February 17, 2026. She has completed all local and state requirements.

Elementary principal Kallie Gensler reported on several activities at the elementary school. They include a fourth-grade field trip to the Williams County Fairgrounds for Maple Syrup Day on March 4, Muffins with Mom on March 3, Doughnuts with Dad on March 10, and Right to Read Week from March 9-13.

High school principal Jamie Grime reported that juniors will be taking the ACT test on February 26 and the grades 6-12 band concert will be held on March 5.

Superintendent Nate Johnson updated board members on the progress of the Ag Tech addition and Courtyard Infill projects.

School treasurer Nate French reported that he will be attending the school budget hearing with the County Budget Commission on February 26.

The next board meeting is Monday, March 23 at 5:30 p.m.
